Delete your paperFriend account
Use this page to ask paperFriend to delete your account when you no longer have the app on a phone. The app can do the same thing, and both do exactly the same work.
What the server removes
- your account, and the display name the people who write to you see
- every frame you own: each one is retired, which ends its circle
- your place in every circle you write to, and the invites you created
- encrypted notes still waiting to be collected, which are deleted unread
- your sign-in account at the paperFriend identity provider
What the server cannot remove
The server cannot erase notes already stored on a frame. It has never held the key that opens them and it cannot reach a frame that is switched off or away from its network.
Account deletion does not erase a frame's local notes or keys, even when it is online. Use the buttons on frames you own to reset them. Reset a frame physically before you hand it to anyone else.
When it happens
Deletion starts when you confirm it and finishes seven days later. Signing in to paperFriend again before then — on this page or in the app — cancels it and keeps your account.
Ask for deletion
You will be asked to sign in first, so that nobody else can delete your account. Nothing is deleted until you confirm it on the next page.
